BEAKMAN LIVE AT THE EXPLORATORIUM!

Jok Church, creator of the internationally syndicated cartoon strip, You Can With Beakman and Jax, and Paul Zaloom, the zany and popular Beakman on the cartoon strip-based television show Beakman's World, make a special joint public appearance to launch the Exploratorium's new exhibition Experiment with Beakman and Jax , on Saturday, March 26, at 1pm in the Exploratorium's McBean Theater.

The cartoon strip's creator, Jok Church, will discuss the creation of the cartoon and the resonance it has found with the general public.

Paul Zaloom, the actor/comedian associated with the TV character Beakman isn't a scientist; yet he makes science accessible for children, parents, television critics -- even science teachers. Zaloom, wearing a tall fright wig and a neon green lab coat, answers kids' questions from "What is snot?" to "How does a roller coaster work?" and in the process, teaches kids about science -- at their level.

Beakman's World uses the same formula as cartoonist Jok Church's newspaper feature "You Can With Beakman and Jax" -- answering kids' inquiries about science -- but with all the high-tech twists required to nab the attention of kids weaned on music videos.
