Philosophy

The Exploratorium is a museum of science, art, and human perception rounded in 1969 by Dr. Frank Oppenheimer. The Exploratorium encourages individualized learning through direct personal experience. Its programs and exhibits are designed for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Education

550 teachers trained annually by School in the Exploratorium and the Teacher Institute; 2,500 total alumni. 69,400 children visited on school field trips.

Outreach

3,400 children, largely from disadvantaged families, are served by Children's Educational Outreach annually. 100 high school students join the Explainer program. 1,150 museum visitors use discounted disabled rate annually, 950 are reached in the commuruty annually by the Disabled Access Program
