Newton proved that the earth is falling towards the Earth at a rate of 1/20
of inch using Ancient Greek Geometry, his Law of Universal Gravation and a
bit of circular motion kinematics. Fortunately for the Earth and Moon, the
curvature of the Earth at the Moon's location drops 1/20 of an inch.
