Hi, all!
On Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 (and again on Sunday the 16th at 5PM, Monday
the 17th at 1 AM) KQED-TV, channel 9 will be presenting a show on the
ramifications of the human genome project, as part of their Springboard
series. Yours truly is on for a very brief 2 minutes giving a very basic
intro into how DNA is converted into protein. There's interviews with
people involved in the human genome sequencing, a researcher who is
sequencing the tunicate genome (and why this is important) and a very good
panel discussion of the potential benefits and problems associated with the
outcomes from the genome project (they really emphasize that we're not
slaves to our genes).
Tune in if you get a chance -- it looks to be an informative program.
