Lime water is a saturated solution of calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2. Since
calcium hydroxide is only slightly soluble is water, a little bit goes a long
way. A tablespoon in a gallon of water will do the trick. You can also make
lime water from calcium oxide (quicklime) (CaO), but be careful, it will
attack skin and it generates a lot of heat energy when it is put in water.
