Hi Lou,
Yes indeed! Some people can smell small amounts of hydrogen cyanide (HCN),
while others can barely smell the gas. My recollection was the non sniffers
outnumbered the sniffers by about 5 to 1. We always had a sniffer in the lab
when we were handling cyanides just in case.
