Hi,

Can you help with a school science quiz question? Who first performed the
"falling feather experiment"?

Actually, the question reads, "Which scientist showed that a feather and a
coin fall at the same rate in a vacuum?" and I suspect they are looking for
the answer Galileo. Problem is, Galileo was about eight years dead when Otto
von Geurike invented his air pump in about 1650.

Any help gratefully received, and a mention for your site in the school
science mag!
