"Search Engines: A Look under the Hood" Avi Rappoport, Principal
Consultant and Founder of SearchTools.com

San Andreas Chapter Program

Date: Thursday, February 10, 2005

Time: 6:00-8:00 pm

Location: Exponent

149 Commonwealth Drive

Menlo Park, CA

ABSTRACT
Avi will cover the basics about how search engines work and how they are
evolving as well as discussing the current hot topics surrounding
federated search engines. Search engines are powerful tools, but they
are not magic; they work best when they are fine-tuned for the
requirements of the situation. If you are implementing a search engine
on your site or you want to know how to maximize your use of search
tools, then this presentation will be of interest to you.
