Thanks Michele, its happened to the best of us. This seems like a great opportunity to tout the activities of The Academic Relations committee which is comprised of myself and Anne Barker who is a student member at SJSU and has provided invaluable contributions to the committee from a student's perspective.
The committee is planning some exciting programs and opportunities just for students in the upcoming program year. We will be reaching out to students at SJSU, UC Berkeley, DVC and City College. Our activities last year were well received by students and we had over 25 students attend both of our Saturday programs. Watch out for upcoming announcements on programs/activities sponsored by Academic Relations in 2004-2005.
If you have any questions or suggestions on outreach to students please don't hesitate to contact me, we welcome any and all feedback.
Thanks,
Camille Reynolds

Subject: SLA-SF: students - so sorry
Mea Culpa. It occurs to me that I sent my previous comments to the
full list and not the board/advisory. This is problematic because as
email is wont to do, it completely takes last night's conversations
out of context and those who weren't there miss the nuances of what
was discussed. May I be the first to say that my comments were meant
in the context of last night's discussion and i certainly don't want
people to think that the board finds students dispensable. That is
simply not true! These were my grumpy comments, my thoughts in
progress, still in the working-out-stage and meant to be shared with
people who were at the advisory/board meeting and would understand
them as such, and finally as a means to jumpstart further discussion.
The issues I've mentioned were in a discussion phase and no actions
have been taken. I hope this is the last time I make this blunder.
Michele
