The SJSU SLIS Alumni Association invites you to the Career Fair on

Saturday, May 1, 2004
10:00 a.m.  1:00 p.m.

at Biblioteca Latinoamericana, 921 So. First Street, San Jose

The focus of the spring Career Fair is on job searching. Our roster of
speakers includes librarians, representatives of library placement
agencies, and experienced job searchers. There will be time to ask
questions afterwards as well as time for networking and refreshments.
Feel free to bring along your resume!

Some of the topics to be discussed:
Interviewing skills
Working with agencies
Resume writing
Salary negotiation

Model interviews will also be conducted by several of the speakers. Be
an interviewee, or observe interviewing in action!

Our speakers will include:
Dave Fishbaugh of West Valley Community College, discussing the
application and interview process in community colleges
Karin Zilla of Certified Employment Group on interview skills
Linda McKell of Advanced Information Management on salary negotiation
Christine Holmes of the SJSU King library, talking about the public
library interviewing process
Elyse Eisner on resumes that work
Representatives from the alumni jobseekers group and Library Associates
